Detection of ABO blood group substances in Ae aegypti and A. stephensi after feeding on human blood of known type and maintained at 30C - results expressed as percentage positive of 20 persons tested. Cross reactions become more pronounced as digestion proceeds so that this technique is unsatisfactory for detecting 2 part meals on different individuals. It was found that detection of haptoglobins was suitable for this task of detecting multiple feeds. see Boreham and Lenahan 1976. Bull ent. Res. 66: 671-679. and slides 2.04-3.01
